Why is there extra cable behind the TV?
Pull-down mounts travel farther than standard TV mounts. A controlled service loop gives power and AV cables room to move through the mount’s full range of motion, helping prevent stretching, pinching, or disconnection. We route the loop behind the screen to keep wiring concealed from normal viewing angles while allowing the TV to raise, lower, and extend freely.
Do I need a MantelMount for a fireplace TV installation?
No. We also install fixed, tilting, and full-motion mounts above fireplaces. MantelMount is an option if you want the TV to lower for viewing. We can help you choose based on your room, TV, and fireplace.
Can you mount a TV over a stone, brick, or tile fireplace?
Yes. Those surfaces require different drilling and anchoring practices. The booking flow and pre-install review help identify the correct path before the appointment.
Will the TV clear my mantel?
We measure the mantel, ceiling, TV, and mount positions before drilling. If the geometry does not work safely, we explain the issue before installation.
Do you supply the MantelMount?
Either option works. You can provide the mount, or VistaMount can help source the appropriate model for your TV and fireplace.
How long does a pull-down install take?
Most installations take about two to three hours, depending on wall material, access, cable routing, and whether a bridge board is required.
What if my fireplace produces too much heat?
We review the heat path and TV placement. If the fireplace runs hot, we will identify that condition before mounting and discuss a safer solution.
